This is a module that was developed to interface lab equipment like blood and chemistry analyzers to a PC for automated acquisition of test results. Most pathological test equipment uses the RS232C standard for communication. The module has been developed under Windows 3.11 and connects to an Oracle database using ODBC to transfer data.
Design of the module enables us to interface with various types of equipment using a configuration file. The module collects patient test data allotted to a machine and then loads it to the testing equipment. It also generates a task list in which the positioning of the sample is detailed. The results coming from the equipment is recorded and then updated to the server. |
