Comat’s Rural BPO initiative known as “RuralBPO” is the process of carrying out Back office support services using Comat’s ICT (Information & Communication Technology) Tele Centers set up by Comat in the Rural India. The objective of the initiative is to leverage readily available rural ICT infrastructure which has resulted into tremendous augment in the capacity for carrying out back office support services based in rural sector.
The “RuralBPO” will be Comat’s SBU focused towards providing services using ICT Tele centers. With the key objective of providing distributed method of providing services, RuralBPO is Comat’s answer to bridging the knowledge gap between rural and urban based knowledge workers. Initially these services will be carried out in the rural locations of Karnataka and gradually moved to other parts of India.
Comat has set up 800 Kiosks as a part of the Karnataka Government project called “Nemmadi”. This project was awarded to Comat in the year 2006-07 by Government of Karnataka under PPP (Public Private Partnership) model.
